My name is Deborah Innocente, and I am a professional English and Spanish interpreter based in Queens, New York.
I was born in New York and raised in Argentina from the age of three through seventeen, giving me fluency in both English and Spanish and a strong understanding of the cultural differences that shape communication. This background allows me to interpret with clarity, accuracy, and sensitivity in conversations where every word matters.
My interest in interpreting grew from my experience working as a Laser Technician in the Operating Room at Cabrini Medical Center. During that time, I often saw Spanish speaking patients who needed help understanding what was being communicated in a medical setting. Being able to assist them in those moments showed me how much clarity and comfort proper understanding can provide, especially when people are dealing with serious or stressful situations. That experience helped me recognize the value of professional interpreting and later led me to pursue formal training and certification.
In 2015, I completed a 120 hour Spanish medical interpreter training program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and later obtained my CCHI certification.
Since then, I have provided interpreting services in medical, legal, educational, immigration, community, and social service settings. I also continue to complete professional education to maintain accuracy, strengthen specialized terminology, and stay current with interpreting standards.
I approach every assignment with professionalism, neutrality, confidentiality, and respect. Whether the setting involves healthcare, legal matters, education, or community services, my goal is to make communication clear, accurate, and comfortable for everyone involved.
